Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry Grande Prairie

Many people have high anxiety levels that pertain to dental procedures. At Cygnet Dental, we understand that and accommodate that with Sedation Dentistry.

Sedation Dentistry can be done with several methods ranging from relaxing sedation to deep sedation which allows you to sleep through the full procedure. We will discuss your concerns and based on your dental anxiety level, we will help you decide which sedation method works best for you. We can refer to someone who does deep sedation.

Sedation Methods

A

Oral Sedation

This is to be taken in pill form with different dosage levels. Oral Sedation can provide you with mild to medium sedation based on the dosage. Oral Sedation takes longer to wear off so we require you to have assistance home after your procedure.

A

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Commonly known as laughing gas, this method of sedation needs to be inhaled by the patient via a mask. This can provide mild to moderate sedation. Nitrous Oxide Sedation wears off faster than Oral Sedation so you will be able to drive home without any assistance.

Cygnet Dental can also do oral sedation together in combination with nitrous oxide if necessary.

A

IV Sedation

IV Sedation allows us to quickly titrate our sedation and fine tune it to your needs. We are able to provide a moderate level of sedation and see results almost immediately. This is a great option for patients who are highly anxious, or are having a more involved procedure done. IV sedation requires you to have assistance home after your procedure.
